What is Bear Coat ?

We proudly use Genuine DuPont Industrial TEFLON-S, originally formulated for the landing gear of the SR-71 and other advanced combat aircraft.   There are cheaper materials on the market.....and that's why everybody else uses them .

The NEW FBI Sniper rifle finish is available only from HS Precision on their fine rifles and Rocky Mountain Arms to individuals and gunsmiths.

NO other finish available in the USA  was able to meet the new stringent test perameters !  

"BEARCOAT" leaves the competition in the dust as it performs uniformly on any base metal encountered in today’s firearms :

• Carbon Steel        (blueing IS rust )
• Stainless Steel     (it wont rust when we are done)
• Aluminum           (yes we do SIG frames)
• Titanium             (yes the New Caspian frames)

……and it is uniform in coverage and color density !

The application of "BEARCOAT" is the most labor-intensive process on the market. Firearms are completely disassembled by certified gunsmiths, down to their smallest component parts. All parts are then chemically cleaned and degreased.

All parts except the springs and the interior of the barrel are hand deburred and prepared for finishing. We have always parkerized parts prior to finishing. This is included in the price.

Each part is individually hand finished and then placed in digitally monitored ovens to activate the curing process.

After curing and cooling, the parts go through a 100% quality control inspection prior to reassembly.

"BEARCOAT" is a very durable, scratch resistant finish that will provide for years of service.

Should your firearm require refinishing for any reason, it will be refinished for a service fee of $75.00 plus  return shipping and insurance.. Intentional abuse is not covered !

"BEARCOAT" is available in the following colors :

SATIN BLACK:

This Premium finish has a slight sheen to it and looks similar to blueing. Best suited for pistols and machineguns. Has a slight charcoal tint to it and is very similar to the original HK baked epoxy finish .

We do not restrict green to law enforcement like some do…You are entitled to have the same gear as the "good guys" as far as we are concerned.

Green is not readily visible on first or second-generation night vision equipment.

This is a favorite of Cabela's hunters and water fowlers.

The ideal concealment color…the U.S. Navy has known this for years !

Stays cool in roof top applications and blends in with ANY background. Does not shadow..A real ghost !

This gray is non-reflective.
